Me again.. so I have started snipping out the paper templates, cutting the fabric and folding/tacking. I have a whole EIGHT little hexagons. This is gonna be one long project!! You will have to show me how to stream line the process if that's at all possible!
Hello, how small are your hexigons? You will get faster and faster, but it is a pretty time consuming activity. I spent a LOT of time on mine this weekend and it has grown an almost inperceptible amout. You're not going to abandon it are you?
They are 5 cm across the widest point. But you are right, once I did a dozen more I got into the swing of it and am getting faster. It's kinda zen-like zone-out addictive, I did so many last night that my left thumb muscles started to ache, and when I finally went to bed I was seeing hexagon patterns in my sleep. But I realise if I am gonna make an actual quilt, it's gonna be a year or three before I finish it! We should hang out one afternoon and hex out together. a x
I would love a hex outing! It is addictive isn't it! Lately (when I'm not able to be quilting) I find myself staring into space imagining what it will be like actually using the quilt, of course I will be 90 by then. xx
Lovely pictures - those trees in the bottom one are brilliant. Looks like a lovely holiday - and yes, I agree, it's so true that ideas which seem perfectly feasible on holiday are often mere pipedreams seen in the light of day to day life. There are always a few which last, though, i think.
